Praise You in this Storm

We had the highest of highs, walking on sunshine, when all of a sudden the clouds moved in. The mood changed from sunny yellow to sullen grey in seconds. There are moments that you never expect in life and this was one of them. The words of one of my favourite worship songs came to mind:

"And I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm"
(Praise You in this Storm, Casting Crowns)

Sometimes we get caught up in what is going on that we forget that God knows why these things are going on. Sometimes we need to take a step forward into His open arms so that we can be comforted in the confusion. Sometimes we aren't going to know the answers and we need to be willing to trust Him anyways.

When answers are scarce that's when faith comes into play. We need to take the focus off ourselves and our role in our story and look at God's role in our story because, in the end, it's not really our story at all... it's His.

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go”  (Joshua 1:9, NIV).

"For no one is cast off by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone" (Lamentations 3:31-33, NIV).
